Hi, I’m Kallie. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) here at Wellview Counseling. I like to help people who are looking for a new way to figure out life. You may be feeling stuck in a bad job, struggling with a difficult relationship, or dealing with a past traumatic experience. Or maybe you’re struggling with anxiety and depression and can’t seem to move forward. Through our work together I will help you identify your strengths and empower you to move towards positive change. As a trauma therapist, I can support you to finally heal from the past.
I graduated from Northern Arizona University with my B.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Management. After a few years, I realized my true passion was encouraging and helping people and changed careers to pursue counseling. I graduated from Kennesaw University with a Masters in Social Work (MSW) and started in a new direction.
Since then, I’ve gained valuable experience working with teens and adults in community outreach, residential settings, schools, and private practice. At Georgia Cares, I coordinated therapeutic and support services for teen survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation. In addition, I provided trauma counseling for girls and women living in a residential program. Working within a school system, I helped teens and families overcome obstacles to learning. Since joining Wellview Counseling, I’ve provided individual therapy and family counseling to address trauma, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and life transitions.
I am currently pursuing certification in and under supervision for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic approach to treating symptoms of trauma, anxiety and so much more. As a trauma therapist, my goal is to help you stop reliving the past and begin living your best life.
To learn more about EMDR therapy, you can read the blog What is EMDR and What Are Its Benefits.
Other modalities and techniques that I use in counseling include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Strengths Based and Solutions Focused Therapy, as well as Trauma Focused CBT.
On a personal note, in my free time I enjoy trying new restaurants, soaking up sun at the lake, spending time with family and friends, cheering on the G (Both Bulldawgs and Packers), and cuddling with our retriever pup!
